I suspect all the girls had 'moments' just not all were shown, the producers probably edited it in such a way to get a response and cause some controversy (which has proven true on these boards!).

Why do people have to be so critical, just watch the show for what it is. It's good viewing and its entertaining, dont take it so seriously!

Martin- yes i do have a big noce unfortunately it runs in my family. However nice to see you noticed BUT i'm not insecure enough to care i wouldn't be me without my nose. m- what you wrote about Ben and I in the toilets was true, there were no actual cameras in the bathroom permanantly but you sort of give up your soul so DV cameras follow you everywhere and you can't get away. I didn't play with Bens feelings i never said i fancied him (because i didn't) we just understood eachother and both had problems in our general lives that we wanted to talk about he listened to me i listened to him, it was as simple as that. The point was i missed home we didn't have any contact for two weeks and there were things that were troubling me, i'm grateful to Ben he helped me understand a lot that was going on in my head

I think these reality TV shows are a bit like a jobcentre for wanna-be celebs who want a career on TV or b-class celebs trying to get their career back on TV.
I just don't like the fact that there seems to be less and less talent on TV these days. I find myself hardly watching TV anymore because there is so much crap on, more than ever in fact. And sometimes in conversation that I have had with other people, they're all feeling the same way.
They will be only so much we can take before we all get bored of these reality TV shows and they will just simply die out when the producers find that they have no more ideas. Just in the same way sitcoms have sort of died out.
Not taking a personal dig at any of the contestants of the show or the lovely Sam. Only ever seen one episode which was tonights on C4 and I think Sam's mint. Oh Sam you forgot to hide your email on 3 of your posts.

Don't get me wrong though I am a genuine nice guy, the nicest, just very critical about TV reality shows and these new quiz shows.

I must say. I love the show sam. More to the point its nice seeing a person on tv as gorgeous as yourself being real. You didnt play up to the cameras and even when you werent trying you looked as beautiful as ever. Its a shame you didnt win as you and ed was a joy to watch and it would have benifitted everyone as you have been on the screens for longer.

Well I've been watching on c4 and thats the first time I'd seen all the girls without make up, and I must agree Sam did stil look the prettiest!

The other girls looked pretty shocking without it to be fair!

i'd have to say natalie & alex were the buffest. but sam was clearly the most naturally 'talented' on that no makeup night. alex's personality shone through - her and will had a great rapport. teri was butters without makeup and i don't think she smiled once. however, looked great on her date with ben.

m- yes i have had professional pics done and i am taking part in soccer six (for charity) i haven't made any money off the back of the show yet, I would like to and i would like to maybe be a tv presenter but its not the end of the world if it doesnt happen. I have a good job that i am so passionate about and i'm happy with that. However i do have fun where my pr gets me to go to parties and in the newspapers. I'm having fun and thats the main thing

lamz- Thank you for taking an interest in the show and supporting Ed and I. I know the show is about glamourous girls but one of the reasons i applied was because i dont think i am (not all the time anyway) and there are plenty of times on the show you see me doing interviews without make up or my hair not looking perfect but i dont care, cos i cant be "glamourous" all the time- it's just not real.

lemz- John is a very sweet guy and i did really fancy him a few days into filming even before his makeover. so maybe i shouldnt judge people on their outer appearance before getting to know them!

You know it's strange: I first saw this show by chance on E4 late one night, and even the title "Beauty and the Geek" made me wince. The whole premise couldn’t have sounded more awful for a reality TV show, apart from that travesty of a show “I’m a F***ing Failing Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here”*.

But then I watched on, for cynical fun, a bit of late night rubbish to watch while drinking beer. And as I watched, I started getting hooked in. Gradually, without realising it, I would find myself looking out for it the following week, and watching the next episodes, on my own, with a couple of beers. (Although, I was a little bit ashamed).

And as the weeks went on, I had to admit it to myself: I liked the show, but I wouldn’t mention it to my friends or girlfriend for fear of being thought of as a sad, low, shallow, softporn-seeking sort of bloke. It was my secret. And here I am, a TV cynic, up at 2-30 am after having watched the final gripping episode, posting a (very long) comment on this website.

Actually, I can say now that it was very entertaining (obviously in the shallow sense - every male knows what I mean) but also in a deeper more socially fascinating sense. The mix of these two social stereotypes (which kind of reminded me of school…the only place you’d normally mix these 2 apparently incompatible types of people) was just a hugely interesting thing to watch unfold. I don’t think even the production company that made this show realised how interesting this was (judging from the voice-over which was as trite as you’d expect from a show with this title). Or if they did, they just aimed it at a very low market – but you can see why they did that.

And although I’m happily living with my long-term girlfriend and our beautiful little baby daughter, I have to admit: I did fancy Samantha Wyness. I’ve always had a thing for proper working class** girls like her: there’s something refreshing about her lack of bullshit. She’s not perfect, nor the brightest girl in the class, but she’s real. She’s not even a pin-up sort (like most of the other girls on the show), but as many people above have pointed out, she is truly and naturally beautiful.

* I hate BigBrother more. I watched it one season, and thought afterwards: I’ll never get that time back…valuable hours of my short life gone forever.

** I’m lower middle class just in case you were wondering. Working class dad, middle class mum - kind of one foot in each camp, but not feeling comfortable with either.

First of all, the stuff thats been posted already, alot of it you should just ignore, lots of people have realised they only get noticed if they can offend or act like morons.

Missed the show first time round because I was living overseas, normally hate reality shows but this was by far the best one I've seen, it's a shame they didn't make it run to more episodes.

Have to say though Sam was the smartest girl on the show imo, such an awesome sense of humour, can't say how many times I was cracking up at her deadpan sarcasm. You can't crack jokes like that if you're thick. And she can write decent English on the internet too, which is a sure sign of intelligence. Top lass!
