Heyoo,

I'm Ed's next door neighbour at Uni, and I thought you should know a couple of things:

His name is 'Lej' because it's short for 'legend', a nickname he acquired within seconds of us all meeting him at Uni.

He can't walk on pavements without falling off the kerb.

His jam sandwich routine is a) more complex than represented on the show and b) labelled incorrectly on the show (they got the 4 and 5 mixed up)

He has a variety of 'number' scales. I won't explain further here.

He also plays table football, and is on the Uni committee, and it is actually through that that he was contacted with regards BATG.

He was indeed a legend before BATG, and continues to be so. One of the characters making Uni life interesting! (He's cooking right now actually, trying to figure out how OXO cubes work...)

Hi, I'd like to agree with what the Tashmaster has said. I co-run the football site which you have linked from this page, and have lived with Lej for two of his three years at Uni, giving me a valuable and extensive insight into what it is exactly that makes him a legend.

Despite having various traits which aren't technically 'normal', he is actually a very well liked and respected lad around the college football club, and regularly treats us to coke-spillage and renditions of "walking in the air", "rape me" and several original compositions on Tuesday nights in the pub, sometimes whilst standing on a table, other times just making do with a chair.

I must also say that the play up his "geeky" image a lot on the show. Although he can be a complete divey a lot of the time, he seems to be the only one of the original 7 lads, and maybe of the girls as well, who could fit into a "normal" social situation and hold a conversation. He is perfect for the show and gives the producers what they want, but you haven't seen the real Lej yet, or the best of him (Tashmaster is right to highlight his kerb heroics, number scales, and the dancing technique that gave him the name "Lej" in the first place) which are all far more interesting than the jam sandwich antics.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I can't believe Ed lost. He was my favourite to begin with, and I agree that he is a total Legend.

After reading his university friend's description, I think Lej should be given his own show. The pavement sneek preview has wetted my Lej appetite. People just can't get enough of him.

I for one, was amazed at Ed's skill on the piano. It made me feel the show only scratched the surface of who these people were, and what they were capable of. Less time with the silly challenges and quizzes (ie, less following whatever formula the show had set) and more time spent on revealing moments like this would have been better. Also, I was really curious as to how some of the final contestants really felt about each other. Did Ben feel betrayed by Sam? What did Ed really think of Sam? etc.

even though sam n ed didnt win they still come out the best pair for me anyway

just curious kirsty as to how you can think sam came accross well?! no offence to the girl as we dont know how it was edited but all she seemed to do was moan and say nasty things. When ed got the last question wrong she didnt even give him a hug or anything.

Gutted Ed lost! But he is clearly deserved of the name 'Lej'

I was in awe of his piano playing. Absolutely amazing. Ed was the funniest to watch in the series. I seriously think E4 should produce an Osboures style programme titled 'Edmund'

Edmond is a true true legend, and cute too. Even though he's a bit of a geek, he's innocence is part of his charm, and i hope he never changes. Love you Eddy

Ok I'm a nice sam!!! lol I think and really wanted ed to win I found myself shouting at the telly when that evil sam made stupid comments and I just loved how laid back ed was I think that made her worse as he wouldn't play her little games and coming down to her level ed you can play my piano any time! and if you have msn you can chat to me anytime too! I hope we get to see more of ed please please please please ed rocks and is so cute!!!!

I'm a bit confused when I watched the 1st episode again I relized that it was said that they didn't know about the girls. Does that mean they didn't know they were gonna be teamed up with the girls or they didn't know the girls were gonna be there? I thought the everyone knew what the program was about when they auditioned? Sorry

Ed is quality, in that first episode when he met sam was soooooo funny. Also the lukiest guy i kno to have sam as a partner!

I agree with 'Goofy' but, moreover cannot remember the name of the music piece he played on the guitar. Would anyone know what it was called? It's bugging me like hell!

P.S I'm a medical student and I didn't mean I agreed that Edmond has Aspersers Syndrome: he doesn't! It's that his idiosyncrasies are overly formulaic, which can be construed as a 'definable' condition. Still though, I'd really like to know the tune he was playing.

I just loved this week's edition.

It is so entertaining and Ed's personality shows through oh so much.

Mum has e-mailed him and asked what he would have done on those last tasks now knowing the outcome. (and the easy option).

Eg....Mums said to him...

So now I am waiting for him to reply as am dead interested how his barain works after the event. Will let you all know.

Well I got a mail back, but he never answered that question about the fox, chicken and corn...
Extracts from his mail to me were...

"Rowing with two of us was actually really really quick and effective.
Although they presented it one way, we went across the river 3 times in
11-12 minutes, Will and Alex took nearly 10 to go across once. I still would
not go across in one. As far as I'm concerned the stakes were too high to
risk disqualification. I should have gone twice.....

Ice. That was such a huge risk to throw it. Me and Sam both spotted it
instantly as an option. But you had to stick with whatever method you chose
and I wasn't prepared to risk having to chuck the ice at a wall for half an
hour. I had to know it would break; bearing in mind that it would inevitably
have been me chucking the ice at the wall ad infinitum.

Mum has e-mailed him for EXACT details but he is 18 months older than me and I remember him being in the National press (front page) for getting loads of GCSE with better results than me.... and younger than all the others. Hope this helps for a min.

I am absolutely gutted he lost out on pure bad luck. Just a lucky guess got the others the money. Perhaps we should all club together and buy him a new frying pan as that was the first thing he said he wanted to get with the money.

Reading Tom's post (the first one) makes me wonder what state his original one is in. I did tackle him about OXO cubes...smile
